  • Intro: To grow group business, the resort focused its efforts on the destination wedding market.
  • Goal: To position St. Maarten and Westin St. Maarten as the preferred destination wedding locations for bridal couples, especially from the East Coast.
  • Activities: Targeted bridal publications for one-on-one visits, working closely with the island’s Dept. of Tourism to create a destination wedding itinerary. Also reached out to the Rachael Ray Show for their “Wedding Do Over” segment with a destination wedding for 10 at the Westin St. Maarten as the grand prize.
  • Results: Major features in Destination I Do, New Jersey Bride, Tampa Bay Weddings, BeautynewsNYC, weddingwire.com and Rachael Ray Show, For the Bride and Upscale. As a result, the number of weddings held at the resort has doubled since the campaign started.
