CAMERON MITCHELL RESTAURANTS
RPR’s primary objective throughout our representation of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants is to elevate CMR’s position in the industry as a national powerhouse restaurant group.
Nation’s Restaurant News, one of the hospitality industry’s most respected trade publications, creates a Top 500 list of restaurant groups/restaurants each year. These lists not only are read by other consumer, business and restaurant media, but by potential investors and partners.
We learned several years ago that there were no independent, multi-concept groups on the list because the data gathering did not account for these companies.
GOAL:
Secure Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ rightful place in NRN’s Top 500 list.
StrategIES:
Change NRN’s data gathering methods to include independent, multi-concept restaurant groups.
Tactics:
1) Set up one-on-one meeting with CMR Founder Cameron Mitchell and Editorial Director Sam Oches (both who reside in Columbus, Ohio).
2) Set up one-on-one meeting with CMR President David Miller, and tour of Mitchell Hall at Columbus State Community College, which was created in part by the fundraising efforts of C. Mitchell.
3) Conduct calls and email exchange with data research company hired to collect List data.
4) Conduct pitching and follow up regarding other NRN Lists in which CMR and its national concept Ocean Prime are relevant.
Results:
As a result of our combined efforts, CMR and/or Ocean Prime were named in Nation’s Restaurant News’ following lists:
• America’s Top 25 Restaurant Groups
• The 10 Biggest Restaurant Chains in America By Estimated Sales Per Unit (Ocean Prime)
• Top 250 of Top 500 list (Ocean Prime)
• 100 Under 100: Emerging restaurant chains take the United States by storm – Ocean Prime
